Evidently, this was the place where the demon Mahishasura was slain by the Goddess Chamundi. Mysore has evolved from being the Sleepy City that is Touted to being the most important one in the state after Bangalore. Mysore Palace, Brindavan Gardens and Chamundi Hills Are some of the Many Places to see if you visit Mysore.
Coorg/Kodagu:-
This thickly wooded grandeur on the western ghats is the most mesmerizing hill station of Karnataka. This place is an Elysium of Nature Lovers. With colourful scenery, wooden Slopes, undulating landscapes, endless mountain range and crafty villages this hill station will steal your heart away. It is also known as the “Scotland of India” for its famous coffee plantations, Lush Green Forests. Abbey Falls is the biggest attraction of Coorg as the pathway for the fall is from the pretty field of coffee. The fall has ample of water even in the summer and can be heard from the main road itself. Though bathing is not allowed because of the steep rocks just beneath the fall. Madikeri Fort is a 19th-century fort which is in the centre of Madikeri it is home to a Ganesh Temple, A Chapel, a District Prison And a Small Museum. This fort provides a beautiful view of Madikeri. This place is so beautiful that you will regret it if you miss it on your visit to Coorg. Dubare Elephant Camp is a capturing and training camp of the forest department. The largest animal on earth is captured and trained here with the help of locals and other elephants. Activities such as bathing elephants, feeding them and elephant rides are provided. Rajah Seat according to legends is a place where the king of Coorg use to come and watch the sunset and now which is open to all tourists. Also here is a fountain show that is conducted in the evening and one can enjoy the sunset then there only enjoy the fountain show. Omkareshwara Temple is a shrine to Lord Shiva and the architecture is a unique blend of Gothic and Islamic style. The temple draws a large number of tourists and devotees. Kaveri Nisargadhama Forest Park is an undeniable one of the most satisfying and enjoyable parts of Coorg visit. Bylakuppe is an area in Karnataka where several Tibetan settlements were established by Lugsum Samdupling & Dickyi Larsoe. This is the second-largest Tibetan settlement in the world outside Tibet after Dharamshala. Namrodroling Monastery is a must-see monastery and it also goes around with the name of The Golden Temple. The huge statue of the buddha will leave you mesmerised for a long, long time.
Ooty:-
Nested in the Nilgiri hills is the Queen of the hills Ooty. This hill station serves as the top-rated Tourist Destination Blessed with tea garden, serene waterfalls, winding country lanes and charming colonial architecture, Ooty is the perfect respite for everyone. Ooty Lake located between of eucalyptus tree and lush greenery and is a great place to experience the beauty of this hill station. This place is one of the most refreshing places to visit in Ooty and is spread over 65 acres. Ooty Botanical Garden resides on the lower slopes of doddabetta peak and is about 22 hectares big. Foreigner and Local travellers have been visiting the lush green lawn for more than 160yr and are spellbound by the stunning variety of flowers, Ferns and orchids present here. However, the highlight of the garden is Toda Hill (toda mund) which reflects the lives and culture of the Toda Tribe. Doddabetta Peak makes a perfect holiday spot amidst majestic hills and misty clouds. It’s the highest peak in Ooty and is the most visited place as one can have an entire view of Nilgiri Mountains as it is located between the western and eastern ghats. The viewpoint is covered with dense flora of colourful Rhododendron Trees and herbs.

Bangalore to Mysore

Mysore (or Mysuru), is second largest city in Karnataka state which covers an area of more than 40 sqkm and is administered by the Mysore City Corporation. Situated 763 meters above sea level surrounded by hill ranges from north to south, it is known as the ‘Garden City’ and the ‘City of Palaces’. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1399-1947. In its centre is opulent Mysore Palace, former seat of the ruling Wodeyar dynasty. The palace blends Hindu, Islamic, Gothic and Rajput styles, and is dramatically lit at night. Mysore is also famous for the centuries-old Devaraja Market, filled with spices, silk and sandalwood.
